Here’s what I’ve learned from writing here since 2020

  1. Write. That’s what you came here for. You might as well go all out. Give out your best pieces, and make them impactful.
  2. Stay Consistent. Consistency isn’t writing every day so don’t break your back while at it. Have a schedule perhaps twice or thrice a week. I’ve observed the best days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any day is still okay.
  3. Engage. Take the saying, “no man is an island” to heart. Read, clap, and comment. Join Mastodon Medium’s decentralized social media if you must. And communicate with other writers.
  4. Take It Slow. Writing on Medium isn’t a race, find your pace and go with it. Keep in mind your goals, and strive at that. Growth comes to each writer at different intervals. Remember the saying, “You still make it to your destination even if you go slow.”
  5. Tags Matter. Tags to your articles matter, so pick 5 tags that best describe your piece. Make sure to use at least 2 tags with less following.
  6. Titles Matter Much More than You Think. Your article’s title is important, do not take it for granted. A good title is what stands between your article and the reader. Give the reader a reason to click and deliver on the title. Think about…
